As part of Wave 1 in the Booster Course Pass, there will be two new cups with four tracks each, giving us a total of eight courses from other Mario Kart games. This page explains the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC release time - the good news is it’s sooner than we’d expected - and the track list from the update. On this page: ORIGINAL GUIDE: The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC release date is Friday, March 18th officially - however, the good news is the Mario Kart 8 DLC release time is technically on Thursday for several regions:
UK: 11pm (GMT, Thursday) Europe: 12am (CEST, Friday) East Coast US: 7pm (EDT, Thursday) West Coast US: 4pm (PDT, Thursday)
This is a couple hours sooner than most Nintendo updates, which go live at around 2am UK time of the day in question. This means in Europe, if you stay up until midnight, you’ll be able to get playing. Of course, it’s worth stating these times could change - but either way, you can begin to pre-load the update now so you can play right away. If you’re playing in Europe - we’d recommend getting a full night’s sleep and starting to play first thing in the morning when you are fully refreshed! Wave 1 will feature the following two cups, each with four tracks: Golden Dash Cup
Paris Promenade (Mario Kart Tour) Toad Circuit (Nintendo 3DS) Choco Mountain (Nintendo 64) Coconut Mall (Wii)
Lucky Cat Cup
Tokyo Blur (Mario Kart Tour) Shroom Ridge (Nintendo DS) Sky Garden (Game Boy Advance) Ninja Hideaway (Mario Kart Tour)
For those who haven’t played mobile game Mario Kart Tour, there is three tracks here which will feel new - otherwise, there is a decent spread of tracks from across Mario Kart history, including stone cold classic Sky Garden from Mario Kart: Super Circuit and the horror that is N64’s Choco Mountain. As well as the above, it’s possible there will be additional patch changes and tweaks to discover.
